Legrand-Latour Campanien Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature Champagne
Campanien is a Blanc de Noirs Champagne from Legrand-Latour, made entirely from Pinot Meunier grown in Œuilly in the Vallée de la Marne. Its name refers to the geological period associated with the chalk beneath the vineyard, a theme echoed by the fossil illustrations on the label.
Thibault Legrand places geology at the centre of his work, seeking to show how different soils shape the character of his wines. Campanien comes from clay and chalk terrain and is fermented with native yeasts, with maturation in used oak before its secondary fermentation and bottle ageing. Released in a Brut Nature style, it offers an introduction to the estate's precise, site-focused approach to grower Champagne.
We suggest serving it in a white-wine glass to give its aromas room to develop, alongside oysters, grilled fish, roast poultry or a savoury mushroom dish. This listing is for one 750ml bottle. A base vintage and disgorgement date are not specified here because they are not visible on the supplied front-label photograph.
