2012 Domaine des Miroirs Sonorité du Vin Les Saugettes
Pale gold with amber glints, this 2012 Les Saugettes opens with a layered, evolving nose: citrus peel, dried white flowers, crushed limestone, and a whisper of curry leaf and toasted almond. With air, savoury notes of fresh walnut, hay, and a faint matchstick/mineral edge emerge, typical of well-aged Savagnin from Jura. On the palate, the wine is taut and saline, with razor-sharp acidity that carries flavours of lemon zest, green apple skin, and wet stone. The texture is fine yet persistent, balancing delicate oxidative hints of brioche and honey against a crystalline minerality. Mid-palate, subtle spices—white pepper, saffron thread—add complexity without weight. The finish is long, clean, and slightly bitter, with almond skin, dried herbs, and a lingering iodine freshness that invites another sip.
