2019 Domaine des Miroirs Mizuiro

2019 Domaine des Miroirs Mizuiro is a hauntingly pure Chardonnay from Kenjiro Kagami’s tiny, cult Jura estate, bottled as Vin de France from the Les Saugettes parcel. Farmed organically on steep clay-limestone slopes and vinified with native yeasts in old barrels, it spends extended time on lees, gaining depth without heaviness. The nose suggests white flowers, lemon zest, yellow apple and a gentle gunpowder reduction over chalky minerality. The palate is tensile yet silky, intensely saline and long, delivering quietly powerful, almost meditative drinkability.
