2023 Kei Shiogai Pommard Poisot

$5,280.00 HKD

Kei Shiogai’s Pommard Poisot 2023 is a red Burgundy from Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, bottled in a standard 750mL format. The Poisot designation gives this cuvée its individual identity within the producer’s small range, making it an interesting bottle for collectors following the new generation of Japanese winemakers working in Burgundy.

Based in Beaune, Shiogai works as a small négociant with grapes from selected parcels across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. His Spanish distributor, which participates in harvest with him, highlights the small scale of production and an approach centred on finesse and balance. Pommard Poisot forms part of that carefully focused portfolio.

This Pinot Noir can be explored alongside another Pommard to compare the interpretations of different producers, or enjoyed on its own over an unhurried meal. We suggest serving slightly cool in a Burgundy glass and assessing the wine before deciding on aeration. Roast duck, chicken with mushrooms or a simple mushroom tart are thoughtful pairing options.
