2024 Domaine Takahiko Nana-Tsu-Mori Passetoutgrain
Nana-Tsu-Mori Passetoutgrain 2024 brings together two red varieties grown in Domaine Takahiko’s own vineyard in Yoichi, Hokkaido: 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Zweigelt. The blend reflects a local interpretation of the Passetoutgrain idea, with Zweigelt providing a distinctive partner to Pinot Noir.
According to the winery’s technical information, the grapes undergo whole-bunch fermentation with wild yeasts, followed by twelve months in used oak barrels. The 2024 release has 12% alcohol, with 1,350 bottles produced. The producer describes a combination of plum and strawberry fruit with white-pepper accents, alongside the savoury character central to Takahiko Soga’s work.
This is a bottle to approach with patience. The winery recommends waiting until at least April 2027 to open it, with around 2030 suggested as an ideal point of enjoyment. When ready, we suggest serving slightly cool and pairing with roast poultry, pork or mushroom dishes. Offered as one 750mL bottle, it is an engaging addition to a tasting of wines from Hokkaido.
