Pedres Blanques Rouge 2019 Magnum 1.5L
Pedres Blanques 2019 is a Grenache-based red from the steep hills above Collioure in Roussillon, presented here in a 1.5-litre magnum. The domaine was founded by Japanese winemakers Rié and Hirofumi Shoji, who met while studying wine in Beaune and gained experience with Burgundy producers before establishing their own project in southern France.
The name means white rocks in Catalan and refers to the striking granite in their vineyard landscape. Old Grenache vines grow on rugged terraces of granite and schist, overlooking the Mediterranean and exposed to the Tramontane wind. Organic vineyard work and a restrained cellar approach underpin the couple's focus on place and fruit expression.
This magnum contains the equivalent of two standard bottles, making it a generous format for a shared meal or a tasting among friends. Our pairing suggestions include roast lamb, grilled vegetables, duck and Mediterranean dishes with herbs. Serve slightly cool and allow the wine to unfold in the glass. The listing is for one 2019 magnum, with a total capacity of 1.5 litres.
